I’m grateful for all the years I knew Scott in his beloved bartender form, from Tyler’s to The Station, through all of my years in grad school at UNC. He was a fixture in those spaces and in my memories, always with a smile and a story to tell while he poured me an extra drink or two. I’ve never met anyone like him, so fiercely caring and honest, sometimes unexpectedly intense. It took me a long time to post this because I still can’t believe he’s gone. Rest well, friend, be good out there. – Laura Brewington
Many memories but one of my favorite is the first time I met him. New to town. My work comrades asked me to meet them at the speakeasy. The drinks flowed and the jukebox played. Scott knew my coworkers, so as they asked for more volume- he complied. He was gracious and kind. I knew then I found my watering hole. After that, whenever I went to speakeasy he kept an eye on me ( single woman drinking alone). I felt safe. We became friends and saw many shows together, shared many laughs and great music. He holds a special place in my heart. – Lori Miller
